
Introduction of the event:
The inaugural Webster Cup was played for at Pecanwood Golf & Country Club in April 2000.
The tournament is an annual inter regional PGA tournament, where teams of eight Club Pro’s from each of the three regions, namely Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Cape compete in a “Ryder Cup” format competition i.e. Foursomes, Betterball and Singles.
The selection process of each team is done by the respective regional committee, with 2 of the 8 team members being senior pro’s (over 50yrs of age).
Carnival City sponsor accommodation & will entertain the teams at a Welcome Dinner on Sunday evening with something special planned for Monday evening.
Teams will arrive at Ebotse Golf & Country Estate on the Sunday 11th May.
A Pro am event on Sunday afternoon for 24 top Carnival city clients & guests will take place with the 24 selected PGA members playing in the Webster Cup.
Pro am format would be : 12 teams - made up of two PGA pros and two Carnival City guests
Before the Pro am – PGA members will conduct an hour Short Game Clinic for Carnival City guests.
On the Monday morning – PGA members will start the first round of the Webster Cup whereby they will play foursomes followed by Betterball in the afternoon.
The singles will be played early on the Tuesday morning with prize giving taking place immediately after play and teams will then depart and make their way back home.
