Uitenhage win the NGN “OUR TROPHY”

The 2007 Pro-Am series was open to the top 100 customers of National Golf Network as well as to PGA Golf Professionals at those clubs and from various driving ranges and golf academies.

Each event consisted of 2 separate competitions, a Pro-Am in which the Club Pro, Club Manager, Ladies Captain / Club Representative and Men’s Captain / Club Representative all played together as a team and a separate individual event for all the PGA Professionals. Once again the series was a huge success and gave the club Pro some quality time with the manager and committee members from each club. It also provided a platform for National Golf Network to provide something back to its top 100 customers.

Following the successful regional Pro Am events held in Gauteng, the Western Cape, the Southern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal – the following qualifying teams made there way to Zebula Country Club & Estate for the Finals of the 2007 OUR TROPHY.

The team event saw the clubs battling it out for both the NGN Inter Club Trophy and the prestigious “Our Trophy” a PGA trophy that has been in existence for over 50 years.
Ensuring a worthy winner – the finals this year were extended to 36 holes over the challenging Zebula layout.
Uitenhage team were convincing in their victory of 7 points from Umhlali.
Congratulations to PRO: Werner Bernhardt and his team of Morris Olivier, Moolman Olivier and Melinda McCay.

TEAM LEADERBOARD

The Pro competition, which saw prize money of R270 000 paid out over the series, was won by Wayne Hill of Umhlali with defending champ, Teddy Webber of Atlantic Beach GC and Johan Engelbrecht from Parow hot on his hills tying in second place!
