SNAG, YOUNG MASTERS GOLF & LADY MASTERS GOLF

It comes with great excitement to officially launch to you one of the most innovative golf initiatives to reach our shores. The PGA is constantly looking for ways to improve our offering to our valuable members, as well as support initiatives that are aimed at growing the game of golf in South Africa. Over the last few months, we have been formalizing our support of a truly innovative and internationally proven golf programme, which is focused on getting children and women, our biggest growing market, into golf.

Play Schools Golf SA (PSGSA), a subsidiary of Matkovich & Hayes, have been in the process of developing a comprehensive golf coaching strategy over the last three years, and have brought into South Africa what promises to be three of the most ground breaking programmes, namely;.

  • Young Masters Golf
  • Ladies Masters Golf and
  • SNAG (Starting New At Golf)

All are aimed at providing PGA Pros with structured coaching material designed to keep children and ladies involved and engaged for longer, as well as make learning the game so much more enjoyable and easy. The focus is really to provide a framework within which PGA members can grow their student numbers and make better use of their available time. An additional benefit is the strong administrative and marketing support given to Pros which allows them to focus on coaching and not paperwork.

PSGSA have already signed up a few license holders around the country after their initial contact at the PGA Coaching and Fitness conference earlier in the year, but they are looking for suitable candidates to take on the programme and help make it the success we all hope it will be. A website has been launched to provide parents, children and Pros the opportunity to get more information as well as to sign up for the programme, so why not visit www.getgolf.co.za to find out more information.

Licenses will be limited and a selection process will be undergone so as to ensure the programme is offered by PGA members who are passionate about coaching, as well as to ensure we give each Pro sufficient time to build their numbers within the various areas.

We encourage you to get in touch with Tim Johnson on 082 424 6202 or tim@getgolf.co.za to find out more.
