In October 2008 Paul Bowden (A) PGA Professional (GB&Ire) & (PGA of SA) brought SunshineKids Academies from the UK to the exquisite province of KZN. With 10 years experience in running and owning golf academies, as well as owning two very successful kids based golf companies Paul brings much needed experience in this relatively new market. Why move from the UK to SA, one might ask?

Kwa-Zulu Natal is also where I learnt my golf as a junior which put me in good stead in achieving my PGA Degree through the Belfry in the UK. Jacque Beukes is one of SA’s finest PGA Professional Golfers excelling as a player (PGA and Sunshine Tours) and as a coach where he applies his trade at the famous Zimbali CC. Jacques has also run golf schools, worked in America for a leading Summer Camp Operator as a PGA Professional and has recently taken over the teaching rights at the Royal Palms.

Jaque decided that the North Coast of KZN and his excellent facilities would be the perfect base for SunshineKids Academies to run out of. The two PGA Professionals have joined forces in what promises to be South Africa’s most comprehensive golf academy program running through the school holidays.

Holiday Camp Overview
The camps are residential and there will be junior golfers from all over South Africa and abroad. The concept behind this Easter camp is ‘elite junior’ which means that we will be focussing on all aspects of the golf game like fitness, diet, psychology and skill development. It is important that everyone is aware that the PGA Professionals will encourage where possible, but we expect strong intrinsic drive from the pupil. Fun, fun and more fun is also central to SunshineKids Academies so as we learn in a happy environment friends and memories can be made for life.
All tuition outside of the PGA Pro’s expertise will be outsourced to a professional in that field, like diet (Registered Dietitian). All instruction will be given by a person who is a member of their relevant professional body, and assistants will be responsible for safety and administrative duties only.
Each day compromises a mixture of tuition, drills, challenges and playing on a local courses all in close proximity to the Royal Palms Golf Range; our instruction venue. Everything is included when you sign up for one of our camps so you won’t be lumbered with any surprise costs, and from the recommendations we have received your golf will improve in this fun and regarding environment.
